Tour Plan
Itinerary
Your Egyptologist tour guide will collect you from your Luxor Hotel or Nile cruise, and together, you will venture to the Theben Necropolis on the west bank of the River Nile.
Madinat Habu Temple (Temple of Medinat Habu)
Start your private tour at the Madinat Habu Temple, dedicated to King Ramses III, the last great warrior pharaoh of the New Kingdom (1550 – 1080 BC). This well-preserved temple is adorned with military scenes and texts depicting the king's victories, along with depictions of the rituals and festivals celebrated there. You will also find a royal palace connected to the south of the temple's open forecourt, with priests' residences and administrative units flanking it.
Deir el-Medina (Valley of the Artisans)
Continue your journey to Deir el-Medina, also known as the Valley of the Workers. Deir el-Medina was an ancient Egyptian village where the artisans responsible for working on the tombs in the Valley of the Kings lived during the 18th to 20th dynasties of the New Kingdom period (approximately 1550–1080 BC). The vivid paintings within the village remain remarkably well-preserved.
Valley of the Queens
Conclude your tour at the Valley of the Queens, the resting place for the wives and sons of Pharaohs, once known as Ta-Set-Neferu, meaning "the place of beauty." Over 90 known tombs can be found here, typically consisting of an entrance passage, a few small halls, and a sarcophagus chamber. You will have the opportunity to visit three tombs belonging to Queens and sons of kings, such as Amun-her-khepeshef, Seth-her-khopsef, Khaemwaset, and a Ramesside Queen named Tyti. Among the most notable tombs is that of Nefertari, the beloved Queen of Ramses II (requires an extra ticket).
